Hi folks

Most of you will we aware that ICC are the organising club for an Open 10-Mile TT event over the Croachy course on Sunday 5th August 2018.

Racing is scheduled to start at 1200hrs and should conclude by 1500hrs. Race HQ is Farr Community Hall at Inverarnie.

This year the event incorporates a separate race category for ‘standard road bikes’ i.e. non-specialist TT bikes, no tri-bars and no solid wheels. This should provide a more competitive opportunity for those without specialist equipment or those maybe new to the discipline to test themselves on a more level playing field. As with the Balblair Road Race, such events cannot succeed without the generous support of club members. Whilst the commitment here, in terms of numbers, is significantly less than the road race, there nevertheless is a need to staff a number of key roles and functions. Those identified so far include:

• Commissaire – GC
• Timekeeper – Sarah Shaw
• First Aid / Medic – Fiona Barratt

The following however remain to be filled:

• Catering Co-ordinator / Contributors
• Sign On / Registration
• Recorder / 2nd Timekeeper
• Course Signage
• Pusher Off
• Marshalls

It would be helpful at this stage to get an indication of any club members who might consider taking part in the event and more importantly those available and willing to help and take on one of the roles identified above. The catering co-ordinator being the key one to identify at the moment.

I appreciate that many of you gave up your time to support last month’s road race and this request follows hot on the heels of that event. Notwithstanding, this is an opportunity to promote the club and cycling in the wider Inverness area.

If anyone is able to assist in the running of this event could I ask that they post their name below along with what role they have experience of or wish to be considered for.

Lastly, if there was a sufficient uptake in club members racing in the event then there might be opportunities to organise additional training sessions hence the request to gauge potential participant numbers.

New to this type of event, but would be glad to lend a hand. Probably best not to take the Catering position, unless of course you would like the opposition somewhat diminished/incapacitated??!!
Please advise where you would like me to assist.....
Will bring the usual home baking.

I have decided to enter this event myself( for fun?) but I will post for catering help and purchase the food if you wish . Kaye is busy that weekend so I will need help to lay out the food and make the teas etc as I will riding in the event.

I’m at Belladrum but I could help out either in kitchen or any other jobs but depends what time I would be needed from? I should be able to make 11am but probably not earlier! Let me know if that’s any good

Really sorry Sally, but I won't be able to help out on the day. Suddenly realised that Kiltarlity can be pretty gridlocked on the Sunday morning when everyone is leaving Bella and that to get to the TT I'd be leaving at what tends to be the busiest time - friends have taken hours to escape from Bella!

I will make a couple of cakes instead and drop off sometime during the week.

I tried to enter the road bike version but it won’t let me do this is there still spaces and can I enter on the day if I can’t get this to work tonight?
