Hello everyone......as promised, I am hoping to organise another social event before Christmas.
It was really good to see so many people out bowling and the night seemed to be a success.

There was some chat at the bowling night about the options for another night out and a few people mentioned Go karting.
So....here is the suggestion for the next one.....

Saturday 14th December at the Fairways go kart track. It sounds like the slots are an hour long and the idea is to turn up half an hour before our slot starts. There are a number of options for the length of an event and how long you’re on the track and I think that’s up to the individual. The three price points are £23, £28 and £38. I appreciate it’s unlikely but if there are 21 of us then we get the track to ourselves There are still a number of time slots available so open to suggestions.

Personally I’ve not been Go karting there before - or anywhere else for that matter so I’ll probably be as successful karting as I was at bowling!?!.

An early indication of numbers would be really helpful to make sure we can get what we’re looking for. Also, feel free to make suggestions for how to make the night go well.

Cheers all.

Joe

Quick thought....if that seems a bit pricey so close to Christmas and people would rather just meet for a drink or food .....or would rather just go bowling again then just say....
...absolutely nothing is set in stone ....

Hi Joe
I've been to the karting quite a few times and it is really good. Although there might be another group there you are unlikely to be on the track at the same time, normally your group will be on for 10 -15 minutes and then the other group will be on for 10 - 15 minutes while you will get a welcome rest.

We've mostly done the grand prix with two 15 lap timed practice sessions which take less than 15 minutes to do and then a final which you are arranged on the grid based on your fastest lap you've recorded during the two 15 lap practice sessions.

If you are going out after, some people might want to change as even though they give you race suits, balaclavas and gloves to wear the smell of petrol fumes and (hopefully) burning rubber does linger!!

Unfortunately I cant make that night as going to a party night in Achnagairn but dont arrange around me as I'm also going to a party night on the 6th and 20th too.

Hope you enjoy it.
Roy

Hi Joe...I'm free on 14th and would be pleased to tag along to whatever is decided. I've never been karting either, but would give it a go....just food and drinks sounds like a good plan too though!

Sorry Joe, I had every intention of coming along and sounds a great night. I'm now down in Pitlochry that day so can't make it.

I'm on my own work night out on the 13th so probably not able to commit 100% to the 14th especially the karting given the extra cost so best not to include me.

I have a CX race that day so might struggle to commit to times for Karting but would be up for meeting for drinks afterwards.

I'm up for a social as I missed the last one. Happy with just food/drinks or karting or another night of bowling - whatever the majority prefer.

Morning folks,

it's a bit of a mixed bag for the 14th.....
Based on the numbers and the feedback, my own feeling is that we should keep the karting for another time as it's a bit close to Christmas in terms of the cost involved and a number of people are at other events that night.
...but I still fancy an outing....
On the grounds that the bar will be less busy than elsewhere, how about we head to the bowling again where we can either just have a drink and some basic food if required or just sit in the bar. We would then have the option of going somewhere else later if people are up for it. Obviously, we can have some fun bolwling again if people want some exercise and I will get the chance to show off my skill set ....or my complete lack of any skills at all!

Any thoughts??

Joe

So I was thinking of postponing Saturday night for a date in January ....but with Mike and Shona coming along that makes 3 or 4 of us so enough for a game of bowling and a round or two of drinks.
Let me know if anyone else fancies coming along for some festive cheer and dodgy 10 pin bowling 🎳

I'm out Friday at my work Xmas outing so may not be fully fit on Saturday for a resumption of festivities but it is possible so I may be along.

Sorry I will not make this one, but can pass on a Rollerbowl voucher again for a buy one game get from free.
Or if anyone still has the monthly ICA mag that comes through the door, there is one in that.
