Hi folks,

You'll have picked up on the latest changes to Scottish Government COVID restrictions which are effective from today. Unfortunately this doesn't extend to organised sport, so there are no immediate changes to the position with regard to club rides. Scottish Cycling are anticipating a further easing of travel restrictions, to include organised activity for adults, in 10 days' time on the 26th April.

In the meantime, informal cycling activity can now take place in groups of up to 6 people from 6 households and take place anywhere (the "five mile" rule no longer applies).

Scottish Cycling have also re-emphasised the need for physical distancing for adults at all times, including during the ride itself.

SC's latest updated Level 4 guidance is here:
https://www.britishcycli...Level4_Update16April.pdf

...and a statement from SC in response to the latest changes can be seen here:
https://www.britishcycli...of-travel-restrictions-0

Further updates will of course follow as soon as the position changes.

All the best,

Mark

Hi everyone,

As anticipated, there will be some further changes from tomorrow (Monday 26 April). The most significant direct effect will be that club rides will no longer be confined to the local authority area - so Logie Steading is now an option again. Smile

More generally of course, the reopening of hospitality means that more cafe options should be available for Saturday rides. As before, there will be limits on the numbers of people/households sitting together, which effectively mean six people per table outdoors (possibly less allowing for physical distancing) and two people per table indoors.

The requirement for physical distancing on the road is likely to be removed from 17 May.

More info is in the latest SC guidance at https://www.britishcycli...dance_L3_A4_23.04.21.pdf

Best wishes,

Mark
